CALATAGAN, BATANGAS — A different kind of fun run is coming to Calatagan as the community comes together for Project Chris Brown 2026 – Run Against Animal Cruelty, happening on October 4, 2026, Sunday, at 4:00 PM.
The campaign carries one clear vision: a KILL-FREE, CRUELTY-FREE, and RABIES-FREE CALATAGAN—where responsible pet ownership, rabies prevention and vaccination, rescue, spay and neuter programs, and humane treatment of animals become stronger community priorities.
At the heart of the campaign is Chris Brown, a rescue dog who became part of the Abot Langit Calatagan and Casa Group family. Rescued in 2020, Chris Brown grew up surrounded by people who cared for him and became one of the many rescued animals whose story represented the importance of giving abandoned and vulnerable animals a second chance.
In 2025, Chris Brown met a tragic end. He was reportedly poisoned and killed, leaving behind a story that would become more than the story of one rescued dog.
It became a call for change.
Project Chris Brown aims to turn that loss into action by bringing communities together to promote responsible pet ownership, prevent rabies, support rescue and sterilization programs, and speak against animal cruelty.
For ₱300 per participant, the Color Fun Run will help support animal welfare initiatives, including food and supplies, dog cages for the Calatagan MENRO fund, and other community-based animal welfare programs.
The event is organized by Abot Langit Calatagan and Calatagueña Riders Club (CRC), in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Calatagan and other community partners.
