More Than Just Coffee: Biyaya Festival, Manila Coffee Fest and Coffee Expo Manila Unite to Brew the Future of Philippine Coffee

Coffee in the Philippines is no longer just about the perfect cup. It has become a thriving culture, a growing business sector, and a movement that celebrates Filipino craftsmanship—from farm to café, from local communities to world-class specialty coffee. As more Filipinos embrace specialty coffee, support local beans, and explore entrepreneurship through cafés and coffee carts, the industry continues to evolve into one of the country’s most vibrant lifestyle and business communities.

From July 17 to 19, 2026, Biyaya Festival joins forces with Manila Coffee Fest and Coffee Expo Manila for the first time at SM Megatrade Hall at SM Megamall. This landmark collaboration brings together three platforms with a shared vision: celebrating Philippine coffee, empowering local communities, and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs. Expected to draw thousands of visitors from across the Philippines and overseas, the event offers an immersive experience for coffee lovers, aspiring café owners, home brewers, students, investors, suppliers, and industry professionals alike.

Whether visitors are searching for their next favorite cup, looking to source equipment and suppliers, planning to launch a café, or simply wanting an exciting weekend experience, the three-day event offers something for everyone. More than a festival or trade show, it serves as a meeting place where coffee, culture, business, creativity, and community intersect.

At the heart of this year’s collaboration is Biyaya Festival, an advocacy-led initiative born from the Coffee Heritage Project’s more than sixteen years of supporting coffee-growing communities across the Philippines. What began as a mission to promote Philippine coffee has grown into a broader movement celebrating Filipino heritage, indigenous craftsmanship, sustainable livelihoods, and the communities behind every product. Biyaya recognizes that coffee farmers are also weavers, artisans, cacao growers, and cultural bearers whose stories deserve to be shared alongside their products.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet award-winning coffee farmers, enjoy free tastings of exceptional Philippine single-origin coffees, watch traditional weaving demonstrations, explore handcrafted products, experience cultural performances, attend Biyaya Speaks, and discover The Walk—a sustainable fashion showcase featuring Philippine handwoven textiles reimagined for contemporary living. Rather than simply purchasing products, guests are invited to meet the people behind them and gain a deeper appreciation of Philippine heritage.

Complementing this cultural experience is Manila Coffee Fest, the country’s leading coffee lifestyle festival that celebrates the growing community of coffee enthusiasts, home brewers, creators, and café culture. Coffee Expo Manila, which built a strong following beginning in Alabang and Southern Metro Manila, completes the experience by serving as the event’s business platform where entrepreneurs can connect with suppliers, equipment manufacturers, service providers, and industry experts.

Organized by Rich Watanabe, founder of the Coffee Heritage Project, Manila Coffee Fest, and Biyaya Festival, together with Victoria Martinez-Esquivias, founder of Coffee Expo Manila, the collaboration reflects a shared vision of strengthening every part of the Philippine coffee value chain—from farm to café. Watanabe’s long-standing work with farming communities complements Martinez-Esquivias’ focus on entrepreneurship, industry development, and creating opportunities for coffee businesses to grow.

Beyond the exhibition floor, visitors can look forward to brewing and latte art competitions, coffee cupping sessions, educational talks, business forums, networking sessions, product launches, DJ Coffee Raves, and hundreds of exhibitors showcasing espresso machines, grinders, specialty beans, dairy products, café furniture, packaging, payment solutions, logistics services, technology, and business support. Whether visitors are exploring coffee as a passion or as a business, the event provides an unparalleled opportunity to discover the latest trends and innovations under one roof.

Supported by SM Supermalls, the Coffee Heritage Project, and community partners Palawan Pay and Real California Milk, this year’s collaboration aims to inspire a deeper appreciation of Philippine coffee while creating meaningful opportunities for MSMEs, local artists, farmers, and future entrepreneurs. More than simply celebrating coffee, the event celebrates the people, communities, and ideas shaping the future of the Philippine coffee industry.
