UBE is a smooth, sweet, and creamy purple yam with the distinct flavor of the north which is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Baguio City. UBE is also an acronym for the Ultimate Baguio Experience (UBE), Beyond Manila Bite’s third and most exciting offering since it launched in 2015.

For its third year, ForkSpoonManila’s Beyond Manila Bites is finally going outside of Manila. From Teacher’s Village to UP Town Center Mall, this annual food crawl series will invade the City of Pines. Now that Baguio is just four hours away from Manila, thanks to TPLEX for cutting it down from seven hours, there’s no reason not to go to Baguio for a quick getaway. Aside from its cool and cozy vibe, historical and romantic tourist attractions, fresh and organic veggies, and rich culture and lively arts; Baguio boasts of many new developments perfect for this summer. More and more restaurants are opening simultaneously all around the city, catering to different concepts appealing to every discriminating taste – from farm to table concept, steakhouse, pizzeria, cafes and bistro, all of which are Instagram worthy.

This is the reason why Beyond Manila Bites brings this annual food crawl series to Baguio in April . The food crawl is a three-day gastronomic experience featuring some of the best homegrown restaurants and must visit places of the city. Among the restaurants to be visited include The Coffee Library, Amare la Cucina, Baguio Craft Brewery, Arca’s Yard, The Atrium Lobby Café and The Outlook Steak & Grill. This is the perfect opportunity for foodies to go beyond the food being served and interact with owners and chefs and discover local food traditions and get a glimpse of the local life of Baguio.

According to Alexis Deocaris of ForkSpoonManila, the producer of Beyond Manila Bites event series, “The main objective of this event is to entice people to visit the new Baguio more often and consider it as their go-to destination whenever they want to relax with their friends and family.” Deocaris also stressed the importance of food guide for the millennials nowadays in social media due to their busy lifestyle and interest in travel. This food crawl will guide them with their choices, especially when it comes to food and leisure.
