Sheraton Manila Staycation: Big Rooms, Airport Views, Filipino Breakfast, and More

There are hotel stays where you spend most of the day outside, coming back only when it’s time to sleep.

Then there are stays where the hotel itself becomes the destination.

Our time at Sheraton Manila Hotel at Newport World Resorts felt much more like the latter.

For the DiscoverMNL team, we tend to notice the details. Is the room actually spacious? Is there enough to do without having to leave? Is the food worth staying in for? And does the hotel give you something you wouldn’t normally experience at home?

Sheraton Manila checks quite a few of those boxes.

Located in Newport City, Pasay, across from NAIA Terminal 3, the hotel combines large rooms, airport views, dining, wellness, family-friendly amenities, and event spaces under one roof.

The Room Is Bigger Than You’d Expect

Let’s start with the room.

Sheraton Manila’s smallest rooms start at around 44 square meters, which is already generous for a hotel room in Metro Manila.

Once you’re inside, there’s enough space to properly unpack, move around, work, relax, or simply spend an afternoon in the room without feeling boxed in.

If you’re searching for spacious hotel rooms in Manila, this is one of the property’s biggest selling points.

Yes, You Can Watch the Planes

Because of the hotel’s location, some rooms have views overlooking the airport and surrounding city. The floor-to-ceiling windows make the view particularly enjoyable.

As people who are constantly traveling for DiscoverMNL, we’re used to airports being associated with rushing. Checking the time, finding the gate, figuring out where to eat before boarding.

Here, the airport becomes something you can simply watch.

There is something oddly calming about seeing planes come and go while you’re sitting comfortably in your room.

If you’re searching for hotels with airport views in Manila, this is one of Sheraton Manila’s more distinctive features.

Just make sure to request the appropriate room view when booking, since not every room has the same outlook.

Shine Spa: Don’t Skip the Heated Beds

After working on content and running around Manila, a massage is usually one of the easiest ways to convince ourselves to slow down.

Shine Spa offers massages, facials, and other treatments, including its Signature Shine Hilot Massage.

The detail we particularly noticed? The heated massage beds.

It sounds minor until you’re lying down and realize that even the bed is warm and comfortable. It makes it much easier to settle into the treatment and switch off.

The spa’s treatment rooms also have private steam rooms.

Oori for Dinner

At Oori, Sheraton Manila’s Korean restaurant, Korean barbecue takes center stage alongside other Korean dishes.

For a group like ours, where food is inevitably part of the conversation, it’s a convenient dinner option when you’re staying in.

Don’t forget to order the Truffle Oil Steak Jajangmyeon, thank us later.

S Kitchen’s Filipino Breakfast

Breakfast at S Kitchen deserves its own mention, particularly if you love Filipino breakfast.

Alongside the usual international buffet staples, you’ll find champorado, taho, kakanin, and familiar Pinoy ulam that you can mix and match to create your own silog.

The taho comes in a miniature Mang Taho-style tin, which is such a simple but charming touch.

Then there’s the signature handmade S Kitchen longganisa.

For us, this is what makes the breakfast memorable. You can build a proper longganisa silog with eggs and garlic rice, then go back for champorado or kakanin because there’s no reason to choose just one.

Amenities for a Proper Staycation

You don’t need to leave the property to fill the day.

The pool is an easy afternoon option, while Sheraton Fitness has cardio and strength equipment for guests who want to work out.

For families, the Kids Club gives younger guests their own space for games and activities.

Guests with access to the Sheraton Club also have a dedicated lounge with culinary offerings, concierge services, business facilities, and other exclusive amenities.

Sherabao Is a Cute Filipino Detail

One small detail we loved is Sherabao, a carabao stuffed toy that adds a little Filipino character to the entire stay.

An adorable Filipino forward stuffed toy, particularly nice for families with kids and a fun little detail to discover during your stay.

COLLAB: More Than a Traditional Event Space

Sheraton Manila also makes sense beyond staycations.

The hotel has multiple event halls and meeting spaces in Manila, but COLLAB is the space that caught our attention.

Rather than a traditional ballroom, COLLAB combines a coworking concept with a plug-and-play events space. Its contemporary design also incorporates an indoor vertical garden, giving the space a more creative and relaxed feel.

For workshops, talks, launches, networking events, and community gatherings, that flexibility is useful.

As a team that works on events, we know that the venue can affect how people interact with the program. COLLAB feels designed for people to actually move around, connect, and participate rather than simply sit facing a stage.

It’s a natural fit for events such as Makers Meet, where talks, workshops, networking, and brand experiences can happen within the same environment.

Sheraton Manila has 25 event rooms and 2,388 square meters of total event space, with its largest event space accommodating up to 660 guests.

The DiscoverMNL Take

What stood out to us about Sheraton Manila wasn’t one big feature. It was the combination.

44-square-meter rooms. Airport views. Heated massage beds. Korean BBQ. A Filipino-heavy breakfast with handmade longganisa and taho served in a tiny Mang Taho-style tin. A pool, gym, Kids Club, Sheraton Club, and even a little carabao stuffed toy.

Then there’s COLLAB for events, which gives the hotel another dimension beyond being a place to stay.

If you’re looking for a Manila staycation, a spacious hotel room, a hotel with an airport view, a family-friendly hotel, or an event venue in Manila, Sheraton Manila is worth a look.

Sometimes, you really can make a whole weekend out of one address.
