Taguig City, Philippines — February 21st, 2026
Filmmakers Meetup Continues for Its 1st Anniversary (5th Meetup) at TTRacing Homegrounds, BGC.
After years of isolated circles, gatekept opportunities, and expensive industry events, something different has taken root in the Philippine film community.
Filmmakers Meetup is back for its 5th installment, and it is no longer just an idea. It is proof.
What started as a simple question: “Where can filmmakers just meet without barriers?” has evolved into a growing movement bringing together directors, cinematographers, editors, producers, writers, and aspiring creatives under one roof.
And now, it continues.
Finally, A free community meetup for Filmmakers in the Philippines!
The 5th Filmmakers Meetup will take place at TTRacing, Bonifacio Global City, marking another milestone in what has become one of the most organic and fast-growing filmmaker communities in the Philippines.
Finally, a Community for Community Sake.
This is not a workshop.
Not a paid masterclass.
Not an exclusive industry-only event.

Filmmakers Meetup was built on one simple principle: filmmaking should not feel isolating.
From students picking up a camera for the first time to seasoned professionals working on commercial sets, the community exists to remove the friction of connection. No gatekeeping. No egos. No hierarchy.
And the traction speaks for itself. When the very first meetup was launched, the team expected maybe 20 people to show up. Instead, they received over 150+ registrations! That became the breakthrough moment. Since then, every event has been fully booked. Five meetups in, and still growing.
The movement has hosted gatherings across Manila, Quezon City, and Pasig, and now brings the community to BGC. Across physical events and online spaces, more than 5,000+ filmmakers are now part of the Filmmakers Meetup community.
Each gathering has drawn filmmakers from across Metro Manila and beyond, forming collaborations, creative partnerships, and real friendships that extend far beyond the event itself.
This is no longer a “first event experiment.”
It is a living, breathing creative ecosystem dedicated to the Filmmaking Community.
Why It Matters
The Philippine film scene is filled with talent. But access remains fragmented. Many creatives struggle to:
• Find collaborators
• Break into circles
• Meet like-minded storytellers
• Discover production opportunities
Filmmakers Meetup addressed that gap directly. It creates a neutral ground where production crews, indie filmmakers, commercial directors, students, and creators can meet as equals.
In an industry often defined by exclusivity, Filmmakers Meetup is intentionally inclusive.
The 5th Meetup at TTRacing, BGC

The upcoming gathering at TTRacing in Bonifacio Global City represents both growth and momentum. With each installment, the community has expanded in size, reach, and diversity.
Attendees can expect:
• Open networking and collaboration opportunities
• Organic conversations between production professionals
• Cross-industry connections
• A welcoming, pressure-free environment
More than just another event, this installment reinforces that the movement is sustainable.
It is not stopping at five. Organizers have confirmed that larger-scale gatherings, expanded city activations, and major industry collaborations are already being planned for later this year, signaling an even bigger chapter ahead for the filmmaker community.
Powered by Community

Filmmakers Meetup was born out of a real production problem. Before the community existed, the team behind Maximal Studio, a Manila-based production studio, struggled to find reliable crew members for their own projects. There was no dedicated networking space for filmmakers. No central gathering point. No consistent event where directors, cinematographers, editors, and production crew could simply meet and build relationships.
Instead of waiting for one to appear, they built it. What began as a solution to a production need quickly evolved into something much bigger than Maximal Studio itself.
What started as a practical fix has now become an advocacy. The founders continue to run Filmmakers Meetup not as a commercial venture, but as a commitment to strengthening the filmmaking community and making access more inclusive for the next generation of storytellers.
Today, Filmmakers Meetup operates through the support of volunteers, collaborators, and sponsors who believe in democratizing access to filmmaking opportunities.
It is spearheaded by:
• Richard Pines — Founder of Web Powerhouse & CEO of Maximal Studio
• Marben Portucela — Colorist & CMO of Maximal Studio
• Joshua Priol — Cinematographer & COO of Maximal Studio
Together, the leadership team continues to push forward the vision of a filmmaker-first ecosystem that prioritizes community over competition.
