These adorable pets are looking for their purmanent home!

Since the pandemic, we noticed that more Filipinos are raising dogs and cats as their companions amid the health crisis. We can’t help it– a single wag of their tails is enough to wipe away our fatigue. If you have not tried raising one yet, then you’re definitely missing out.

However, it is true that adopting a pet is a huge responsibility. It takes careful planning and countless considerations (e.g. your living conditions, financial capability, commitment, etc.) before you proceed to the next step. If you’re aspiring to become a furparent and you’re unsure where to begin, these pet adoption centers around Manila could be a great starting point.

The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)

PAWS has been consistent in advocating against animal cruelty. Thus, their primary goal is to rescue animals from abusive owners and give them the gentle treatment they deserve. In order to adopt the animals, PAWS has a strict screening process (rightfully so) to ensure the pets are in good hands.

True to its name, Lara’s Ark serves as a refuge for rescued animals. This animal shelter in Batangas has been at the forefront of saving animals during disasters, such as during the Taal Volcano eruption in 2020 and Typhoon Odette in 2021. Dozens of cute and playful fur babies at Lara’s Ark are waiting for their forever home!

If you are still undecided about adoption, you can opt to donate in the centers/shelters we listed above or foster a dog or cat instead.
