Kawit Mayor Angelo Aguinaldo, the great-grandson of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, pledged to donate his entire salary from March up until the pandemic ends to COVID-19 relief operations in his municipality.
In his offical page’s Facebook Post last April 6, 2020, he announced his donation and called for the cooperation of his constituents.

#KawitFightsCOVID19“
According to the young Mayor, he recognizes the needs of every Kawitenyo and that the LGU has been working hard to ensure that everyone is safe and is well-provided in these trying times.
Mayor Aguinaldo has earlier finished distributing more than 23,000 food packs in the entire municipality as the first batch of its relied operations and repacking of more food packs is continuously going on in the Municipal Hall.

Kawit has already closed its borders as neighboring cities to ensure that the disease will not spread in the municipality. Disinfection chambers have been installed in the entry and exit points of the town. And strict implementation of the enhanced community quarantine is observed.

Being the first town near the epicenter of COVID-19 in the Philippines and surrounded by towns with positive cases, Kawit is very vulnerable to the spread of the disease and thus strict preventive measures have taken place to control the spread of the pandemic.
