Smooth, Spacious, Sensible: The all-new Yamaha Mio Gravis hits the road

When a ride is smooth, efficient, and built for comfort, there’s little reason to give in to reckless, emotion-driven driving.

That’s the core message behind Yamaha Motor Philippines’ Sensible Riding Is A Choice campaign, launched alongside the reintroduction of the all-new Yamaha  Mio Gravis and the debut of the Ride Cast podcast hosted by Mikee Reyes and Kiko Matos.

On May 30, 2025, Yamaha Motor gathered a group of well-known personalities to amplify the call against reckless riding—a local term for aggressive, irresponsible behavior on two wheels.

“Don’t let your emotions get the better of you. Mas masarap mag-ride pag nagbibigayan. Let’s share the road,” said actor Kiko Matos, who took the Yamaha Mio Gravis for a spin with Mikee Reyes, riding from Katipunan to SM Megamall with ease along EDSA.

The duo were among the first to experience the new Yamaha  Mio Gravis’ standout features: a more spacious compartment, easily accessible fuel lid, wide tires, and  a sleek matte finish.

“I’ve tried a lot of motorcycles, but I always go back to the Gravis,” Mikee  Reyes shared. “Magaan, sa stoplight hindi mabigat—it’s built for everyday use.”

By offering convenience and comfort, the Gravis discourages emotional or reckless riding. It’s a ride that supports safety, not speed thrills.

Even the rain couldn’t stop Yamaha from premiering its new sensible riding  commercial—complete with actual men in kamote costumes hitting the streets to send the message home.

Social media star and food personality Ninong Ry capped the event with a crowd-pleasing kamote dish and a friendly reminder:

“Kamote is meant to be eaten, not driven.”
