With the holidays rolling in, gift shopping can quickly go from fun and exciting to stressful and energy draining. You have to consider many things – your recipients’ taste, the availability, the price – it can all be a little overwhelming. So, we’re here to give you some advice: for when you’re racking your brain for ideas, try to give meaningful and purposeful gifts.

Over here at Discover MNL, we believe in the creative pursuit of one’s art. Handicrafts made by local artisans are always a nice way to support their business; and the same goes for thoughtfully made local delicacies. One of the most well-loved brands here in the country, Rebisco, is celebrating the Filipino Heritage with three designer cans of their all-time Rebisco favorites; two of which feature two established Filipino artists, while the other features a beautiful work of art.

Known as “A Gift of Heart thru a Work of Art”, it is their aim to promote and engage the art movement in the grassroots level by supporting communities identified as wellsprings of artists.

The proceeds of the project will go to students of Regional Lead School for the Arts in Angono (RLSAA) to address their need for art easels, exhibit space, and exposure of their students’ talents to masses. Through this, Rebisco was able to provide them more art easels to be used by their senior high visual arts class, convert the landing of their stairs into the Rebisco Art Hall or an exhibition space for the students, and shine the spotlight on the students’ best works which are featured on the 2019 tin cans.

Rebisco aims to make this an annual project that will rotate among art communities every year, and will be a nationwide campaign, seeking to also help the underdeveloped art communities in Visayas and Mindanao.

The tin cans’ standard retail price is Php 180 and is now available in leading supermarkets nationwide.

Make these the star of your holiday parties and a give the gift of heart this Christmas. The holiday spirit, after all, should be meaningful and shared to everyone.
