There are lots of hotels to choose from when flying to Boracay. What you end up choosing matches your personality and what you find comfortable and practical. For us, we looked for one that makes us feel close to home, and that’s how we discovered this hidden gem at the other side of the island: Niu Ohana East Bay.
Let’s give you a rundown of the Niu Ohana Experience:
Arrival
After a couple of days walking up and down most of White Beach (because lets face it, it happens when you’re a Bora newbie) we stumbled upon a bar and restaurant named Niu Ohana which is their sister establishment that caters to the nightlife needs. Unknowingly, this is where we went to when we had to transfer accommodations to Niu Ohana and their ever so helpful staff informed us that the hotel was in a different location. They even offered to give us a lift going to the hotel which was a big plus given the noon time sun was scorching hot.
Common Area
On checking in, it was pretty obvious that they set up their hotel with a Hawaiian theme. From the cozy bamboo-enhanced lounge areas filled with hammocks, bean bags, and recreational tools (board games and pocket books) to the bar type in house restaurant where you can order meals (and place your breakfast choices).
The staff here were just as incredibly friendly and inviting as at the restaurant branch on white beach. As the saying goes, a smile went a long way! Before accompanying us to our room, they served us a couple of welcome drinks (which I think was a milk & watermelon smoothie) that just hit the right spot on such a hot day. Oh, and they have this really adorable Beagle who is sort their muse and happily welcomes new guests to the resort. Who would not warm up to this place, right?
Location
Niu Ohana is located on the less crowded front of Bolabog Beach in the Station 2 area and is about a ten minute walk from d’mall. This side of Boracay provides the perfect setting for kite sailing and wind surfing as there are barely any boats and hardly any people. It’s the best escape to different kind of Boracay sanctuary if you feel like stepping out of the rather over populated White Beach and just enjoy the white sand and waves on your feet.
Room
Now this I didn’t expect. We were not just given a room, we were given an apartelle. The incredibly homely room was basically divided into four areas: the sleeping and living room, the bathroom, and the kitchen and dining room, and the balcony.
The sleeping area had your hotel basics – queen sized bed, air-conditioning, a flat-screen TV, a leather couch, a vanity mirror, desk, and cabinet.
The bathroom was actually like a proper hotel’s – proper ventilation, ample lighting, hot & cold shower (amazingly, they use a solar-powered heater so it takes a few minutes for it to heat up), toilet, mirror, sink, and complimentary toiletries such as soap, shampoo, and toilet paper.
The kitchen wowed me the most.
They had a refrigerator, washing sink, stove, toaster, rice cooker, boiler, cooking utensils and cutlery, silverware, crockery, and a dining table for two. What more could you need to survive on a tight budget when you already have these right? Pop inside one of the convenience stores for food you can prepare on a quick fix and you can whip yourselves up a nice home-cooked meal and dine by candlelight on your (did we mention?) private balcony overlooking the night time beach. What could be more romantic, right? (Gents, heads up!)
Bar and Restaurant
As if the hotel wasn’t enough, Niu Ohana also has a Bar & Restaurant counterpart right in front of White Beach! Imagine sipping cocktails while waiting for the gorgeous sunset of Boracay and listening to live bands serenade the night away! This is one of the most chill places you can visit when you just want to watch the waves come and go and savor every moment in the island.

Hello just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
The words in your article seem to be running off the screen in Internet explorer.
I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to
do with internet browser compatibility but I figured I’d post to
let you know. The design and style look great though! Hope you get the issue solved soon. Cheers
My spouse and i got so satisfied Edward could complete his investigations by way of the precious recommendations he gained from your blog.
