Before 2024 ends: Life souvenirs from a fulfilling year

In this 2024’s special episode of a year in the life of someone, it’s like we supposed that this year has been long and enduring. From personal challenges, social issues, romantic and platonic relationship growth or downfall, boil down into being validated, or many times we still bring some emotional baggage to a new year—which is totally fine!

Here are some things you might find yourself be intertwined, as though water and air on your skin, that built and left us as 2024 ends:

Poetry speaks on behalf of our well-beings

As someone who has an intimate connection with words and the ever-expanding creative world, poetry has been my safest place to vent out in ways no one, even myself, could have imagined.

Wriitng. Self journal.

Some of us started out to list things we hate in a notebook, then literal secrets. These forms of writing evolved into what we all devour as secret messages we decode as long as it aligns with our beings.

For most part we’re wary about spilling our darkest, little secrets because vulnerability is our greatest failure. But curating and posting poems and short stories for a collection we can cherish the part of us having a voice. Even though no one asked, it scratched the itch of being heard.

Taylor Swift or no one.

If you ask the Filo Swifties if they hate Taylor, I guess we’re on the same page if saying we hate (no, not really!) Taylor Swift for not visiting Manila for her recent tours. But who are we to hate the queen, especially her songs blasting in this coffee shop while writing this?

But if you ask them on a deeper level why they love her? As a low-key Swifitie, my love for words started when I first listened to Red in sixth grade. Most of us never knew that loving her artistry would grow more than lyrical words. If you like advertising design, you probably like art galleries. Being artistic is being able to go beyond what art you really like

Everyone is a never-ending universe where art is hidden somewhere in a planet one hasn’t landed on yet. We are used to walking around comfort zones, but some of us can decide to explore creative visuals to accompany poetry with it.

The universe’s plot twists we always needed

Did you know that the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) endured a 16-year karmic cycle? Well, a karmic cycle is a process of unlimited rebirth and death, and so limiting one’s potential of pureness. It’s like having lived through thousands of lives!

Now that’s ended, it signifies the full resolutions of lessons from the last sixteen years of ups and downs. As a Libra, I attest everything has started so smoothly with my continued education after many setbacks, new colleagues, and relationships ended and blossomed.

Even though you’re not associated with the cardinal signs, or simply don’t care about astrology, the universe’s high entities of plot twists will not hold you accountable for not having faith in them.

Universe. Freedom. 2024.

A year is more than waiting for extraordinary things. Isn’t that we get anxious when we look past six months from now, so maybe we can live for the little moments?

Live the moment with your cute dog. Live the moment when you get your first heartbreak. Live the moment for the remaining days before this year ends.
