It’s time for Filipinos to go out and volunteer again in person! iVolunteer, together with SM Cares, SM Supermalls, and Cravewell, is bringing back this year the most prominent volunteer engagement event in the Philippines: Go! Volunteer expo!

The 2-day volunteer exposition gathers nonprofit organizations and volunteers in one venue to match their needs and interests.

“For us, Go! Volunteer 2023 is significant in a way that it ushers in the start of bringing back physical volunteering,” said iVolunteer Executive Director JB Tan. “We’ve continued our volunteer activities online during the pandemic when we were locked in our homes; but now, we’re saying we can volunteer in person again.”

While Go! Volunteer expo in Manila will be on its third run, the event will also have a separate leg in Davao, marking the first of its kind outside the capital. The group said the event aims to reignite everyone’s passion for helping others and make it a part of their lifestyle beyond the occasional need-based volunteer participation.

“We all started volunteering because of a personal reason, either to try an experience or find connections. Volunteering is the perfect way to discover something new for your life,” Tan added.

Go! Volunteer 2023 will be held on May 6-7 at SM Megamall and May 27-28 at SM City Davao Annex where the event is expected to host its most diverse slate of partner organizations ever.

“SM Cares is dedicated to supporting communities by empowering the next generation of leaders and actively involving them as champions of our various advocacies,” said Royston A. Cabunag, Assistant Vice President for SM Supermalls and SM Cares Program Director for Children & Youth. “As the ‘Mall for All’, we are thrilled to be an avenue for iVolunteer to welcome and gather organizations and volunteers, creating more meaningful opportunities for the youth to create a brighter, more sustainable future for all.”

Beside learning about different advocacies and volunteer groups, attendees to the event can also listen to discussions by invited speakers within the volunteer space, as well as enjoy exciting games, activities, and treats from event partners like Cravewell. Everyone is welcome because admission is free.
