Yes, you read that right. It’s a 10 course meal that will have you explore different levels of tastes and discover flavors you never thought would blend perfectly together.
So, let’s begin.Now that you’ve fully embraced the relaxing ambiance that is Qi Wellness, let’s see what’s on the tasting table.A carefully crafted menu celebrating flavors from all over by Chef Neil Sapitula.
It starts off with, of course, your choice of wine for the evening.
Before the countdown begins, you are served this freshly steamed (0) MANTOU WITH TRUFFLE BUTTER, and quite frankly this just starts the meal in a perfect note. Can’t go wrong with truffle.The degustation series opens with (1) HOUSE MADE BACONBy description, it’s egg and truffle foam. By taste, it’s a symphony of flavors in a compact bite.
Next we go for the (2) SEAFOOD MOUSSE
A delicate cauliflower purée with saffron foam and lotus crisp. Much like a richer and creamier take on seafood soup that sort of tricks your tastebuds at the first bite.
Get ready for the (3) FOIE GRASServed with pear cardamom purée and chrysanthemum. Best believe if you love foie gras, you’re gonna get it in all its rich, fatty glory that balances greatly with the pear purée.
Up next, (4) CURED DUCK BREAST
Served with honey anise vinaigrette, fresh crisp greens and goji berry. This one’s an easy favorite. It looks light and simple, which it is, but the flavor of the duck just complements perfectly with the greens and berry in one bite.
Time to warm it up a bit. (5) LAPSANG SUCHONG SMOKED PRAWNSeabass + pickled beets + lime+ laksa. We’re in love! As if the laksa wasn’t enough to draw us into this dish, the kick of lime and the perfectly salted seabass just takes the cake. It’s a harmony of flavors that just sing to you.
Let’s freshen it up. (6) TUNA TARTARE
We have to thank the world for tuna. Tuna is amazing. What more if it’s enveloped in avocado mousse, caviar and wasabi mayo? Need we say more?
Going in for a surprise. (7) VEAL CHEEKS
Looks good, tastes amazing! This takes the top spot for us for this tasting menu. The veal is beneath a bed of creamy truffle potato mixed with caramelized onion and Szechuan buttons.
From the dim sum table: (8) SMOKED CHICKEN
Their take on machang. Smoked chicken with globosa rice in lotus leaves. Fragrant and flavorful.
Were you keeping track? (9) LAMB CUTLETS
Nicely seasoned lamb cutlets with almond crust + amaretto jus + sweet potato croquette + mint & mango salsa. The mint and mango salsa gives a surprisingly refreshing twist on this dish.
Finally, dessert. (10) VANILLA ICE CREAM
After a whirlwind of flavors, this sweet treat locks it all together with the block of torched cream cheese, merengue and milk soil. It’s altogether crunchy, creamy and gooey.
