Stuck at home, bored out of your mind, and longing to travel again? Don’t worry, you’re definitely not alone. Countless people around the world are going through cabin fever and looking forward to the day when we can all safely travel to new and exciting places again.
It’s this love for travel and adventure that fueled young artist Glenford Lumbao to create the latest giant mural in BGC. Recently unveiled to the public in partnership with the Bonifacio Art Foundation and Yamaha Motor Philippines, Lumbao showcased his striking new mural on the side of 8-story-tall W Global Center (30th Street corner 9th Avenue, BGC Taguig). Spanning 45 feet by 80 feet, the mural boldly shows how the fabric of society is formed by various people from all walks of life: a virtual reality Gamer on the [new] Mio Aerox, an Artist handing over an artwork to the Trendsetter, the Trendsetter on her way to the Chef for a new foodie exploration, the go-getter Chef who’s feeding the Gamer, and the Adrenaline Junkie giving paint to the Artist to finish the statement, “What’s Your Culture?”
Dedicated to breaking the monotony of the AT vehicles industry, Yamaha is building a riding “culture that is destined to progress, not fade”. The new models of Yamaha Mio AT vehicles were integrated within each frame of the artwork to show its integral role in our everyday lives, safely taking us from point A to point B as it is constantly innovated to serve riders better, especially in these challenging times.
The Fine Arts graduate from UP Diliman used his unique art style to first catch your eye then retain your attention. The texture used on the artwork symbolizes the concept of an interwoven community and how every person can contribute to the bigger picture of a recovering society overcoming the effects of the pandemic.
Observing its vivid colors and bold lines, the massive artwork will evoke a sense of happiness and adventure that needs to be satisfied. And with the help of motorcycles, you can safely travel without compromising your health whether it’s for business or pleasure.
