Comfort.

That’s what a lot of people have been craving and searching for during the pandemic. The comfort of being able to go outside with the hullabaloo of the metro; the comfort of seeing your friends and family; and the comfort of eating your favorite home-cooked meals. This is what Project Kitchen has promised to give its customers: comfort.

A small business with humble beginnings, it started out wanting to showcase all of their family’s best-loved dishes. It stemmed from a feeling of nostalgia when its owner wanted to re-create one of her mother’s recipes and gave her own little twist to it. Then, just like magic, *poof* Project Kitchen was born.

If you are in search of the type of food that feels like home, just like the feeling of warmth after eating your mom’s cooking at a family gathering, Project Kitchen might just be the cure to your homesick-fix.

1. Baby Back Ribs

I know what you’re thinking: “Ribs? There are so many stores selling ribs! What’s so special about this??”

It’s true that there are a number of online stores that cater and serve Baby Back Ribs. But there are also reasons why Project Kitchen’s Baby Back Ribs are a crowd-favorite and its best-seller: it is hearty, it is meaty, and it is just lip-smackingly good.

They boast of fall-off the bone ribs, and they were not lying. The meat is not only tender, but it is succulent. It is so juicy and soft like butter. Each bite makes you feel just how much time, care, and love was put into cooking that piece of meat in your mouth.

As important as the quality of the meat is, of similar importance—and may be even more so—and the major factor of having good ribs is the sauce

The meat itself has been lathered with their signature sauce and the flavor is delectable to the palate. It is a combination of sweet and tangy and you can definitely taste the spices that they have put in which ties everything together beautifully. Their sauce is so good, they’re even generous enough to add some on the side, along with buttered corn as well!

2. Baked Penne Rigate

Can you say cheese?!?

If there is one word to describe this pasta dish, it would be Wow. With its generous serving of their special 3-cheese sauce, topped with mozzarella cheese– not to mention its all-beef meat sauce—this dish is sinful. Goodbye diet, and hello Project Kitchen’s Baked Penne!

Not only is it delicious, but it is a treat for the eyes too! It’s definitely one of those dishes that you would want to bring to a pot-luck dinner and brag about.

For only Php1850 (their biggest tray) you can literally feed 10-12 people. If that’s not a good bargain, then I don’t know what is.

For those who are not as keen to pasta, this will definitely convert you into a pasta-loving junkie. So, dive in with us and enjoy the wonders of their Baked Penne.

3. Chashu Rice

Hold on to your seats, ladies and gents, this is an incoming product and boy, is it exciting!

We’ve all had chashu in ramen. I mean, it’s one of the greatest things about eating ramen! (Especially when you’re a meat lover!)

But have you ever had chashu over a bowl of Japanese rice? No? Then, may I suggest going to the path least taken?

To say that the Chashu in Project Kitchen’s Chashu Rice is soft is an understatement. You can sense that the pork was meticulously prepared over a long period of time because you can only achieve that kind of softness when you actually take the time to cook the pork in a way that it would just sink into your teeth without even that much pressure.

The pork is torched to perfection and its delicateness is definitely appreciated. To its side, you can find pickled ginger, which just goes perfectly with the chashu, to cut the grease from the pork. There is also an Ajitsuke Tamago, which is soft and seasoned very well and is not too salty at all!  They also serve it with a Moyashi salad (bean sprouts with a sauce that is a combination of sweet, salty, and and a bit of spice). It’s just an explosion of flavors and textures in one bite.

And of course, there is their sauceProject Kitchen has really upped the ante with their sauces. They are not overpowering nor overwhelming, they have struck the balance of just right

If you aren’t the type to buy main dishes and would rather go for sweets and pastries, don’t you fret, Project Kitchen offers a number of really yummy desserts too! They have their Lala’s Chocolate Cake, lovingly named so because their two little girls call their grandmother this sweet nickname. Along with this, they have Stella’s Fudge Bars, a highly-addictive dessert that is made with Belgian chocolates, walnuts, and rolled oats! And lastly, they have their Pia’s Strawberry Cheesecake, made with their home-made jam topped with fresh strawberries, that is the perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess from the cream cheese and that zing from the berries! All so good, and all so comforting.

At a time where there is a saturation of online stores where there are so many food to choose from, nothing will ever compare to that feeling of comfort that comes from eating a delicious meal that you know has been prepared with love and care.

We eat not just to eat, but we eat good food because it is pleasurable and it makes us feel good. At the end of the day, all we want is some comfort food that makes us feel like all our problems and everything that we’re going through can take a back-seat to our happiness. Even if it’s just for a couple of minutes.

This is how you will feel when you try Project Kitchen’s food. Comfort.
