Manila, Philippines — January 2026
In celebration of Philippine Tropical Fibers Month, STYLE ISLE’s Weave Art Workshop presents WEAVING ISLANDS, a hands-on weaving experience happening on January 30–31 and February 1, 2026 at Café Siriusdan.
WEAVING ISLANDS is a tactile journey across the Philippine archipelago, spotlighting the country’s rich tradition of tropical fibers such as Philippine Cotton, Abaca, Pina and other natural materials transformed through contemporary craft, design, and storytelling. The program invites the public to engage not only as viewers, but as participants in the living practice of weaving.
Facilitated by Twinkle Ferraren, islandwear designer and founder of STYLE ISLE and Weave Art Workshop, the experience bridges heritage and modern life. Through guided workshops, material explorations, and intimate conversations around craft, WEAVING ISLANDS highlights weaving as both a cultural language and a sustainable creative economy.

“Weaving is one of our oldest technologies,” Ferraren shares. “It holds memory, community, culture and climate wisdom. WEAVING ISLANDS is about reconnecting people to the fibers that come from our land and the hands that shape them.”
Hosted at Café Siriusdan, a space known for nurturing creative communities, the event creates a relaxed yet meaningful setting where visitors can learn basic weaving techniques, understand fiber origins, and appreciate the cultural narratives woven into each strand. The café setting reinforces the idea that indigenous craft belongs in everyday life.

WEAVING ISLANDS aligns with the national celebration of Philippine Tropical Fibers Month*, reinforcing the importance of locally sourced, natural-fiber materials and the artisans who sustain these traditions. It also underscores STYLE ISLE’s ongoing advocacy for ethical fashion, community collaboration, and contemporary applications of indigenous craft.
The event is open to the public and welcomes artists, designers, students, culture advocates, and anyone curious about Philippine textiles and fibers.
Registration required for workshops due to limited capacity.
